Furniture, Lighting, Art and custom furnishings for a Greek Revival Home.

Location: Portland,OR
Size: 4,400 SF
Completion: Summer 2018

This Greek Revival style home in Portland is one that the clients wanted to make feel more artful and colorful. Our goal was to enliven the spaces with texture and pattern. The design was inspired by the textural frenetic work of artist Howard Fonda, who’s two bird paintings can be found in the home. The client opted for a non-traditional living room furniture arrangement and instead of the typical sofa and two chairs, went with a curated collection of lounge chairs around the fireplace. On the front windows of the house we installed dramatic two story high drapery. We switched out the traditional light fixtures for more radical modern fixtures. In the dining room we brought in visually stimulating wallpaper and a bold paint color. The dining table is a custom design with the Joinery in Portland and the dining chairs are a custom upholstery from Philomela textiles. The master bedroom features a custom headboard to fit a king bed between two windows that were spaced for a queen! Play with patterns and colors were also had with custom roman shades and room darkening french curtains.
